Furlong Seawalls LLC’s is a local business, owned and operated by Shawn M. Furlong.

Michael is:

• A University of Maryland graduate
• A decorated combat veteran Airborne Ranger NCO 
• An experienced marine construction project manager with specific seawall engineering and seawall panel design, boat lift and dock building experience
• Florida State Registered Marine Specialty Construction Contractor #SCC131152106

After receiving his honorable discharge from the Army, Michael, a Florida native, began working in the construction industry for Capital Building Supply progressing to General Manager for Decks & Docks/CMI a maker of sheet piling for seawall construction. Michael continued his career in marine construction as General Manager for local company Atkin Marine followed by Division Manager Marine Division for another local company Abbott Construction. Michael has supervised and built seawalls, docks and lifts all over Sarasota and Manatee counties and knows the area like the back of his hand. In 2017, Michael incorporated Furlong Seawalls LLC and acquired his Speciality Contractor License.

Michael believes in leading from the front and will often be seen working on site with his team.  Furlong Seawalls is a tightly knit and well-organized group of skilled individuals composed of experienced seawall, dock and lift builders.  The Furlong team members have built thousands of feet of seawall and repaired or built numerous docks across South-west Florida.

Michael believes in hiring, training and retaining dedicated employees for the long-term, and not resorting to subcontractors. As a consequence, Furlong Seawalls proudly boasts a zero employee turnover rate.
